Hali‘a Aloha, Senator Inouye
Posted on December 17, 2012
Aloha e Sen. Daniel K. Inouye…
Mahalo nui loa for your long history of supporting Native Hawaiian programs, including the Polynesian Voyaging Society.
Our deepest condolences to your family and colleagues.
You will be sorely missed but forever appreciated.
For more on Senator Inouye’s passing and his life, see the article by Derrick DePledge at the Honolulu Star Advertiser. Myron B. “Pinky” Thompson, president of the Polynesian Voyaging Society from 1979-2001, worked closely with Senator Inouye on revitalizing Native Hawaiian culture and arts.
